Oprah For President?

Oprah Winfrey is "actively thinking" about running for president. Following Oprah's extraordinary speech at the Golden Globes Sunday night, the internet has been exploding about rumors that she'll run for president in 2020.  According to anonymous sources, some of Winfrey's confidants have been privately urging her to run, and these conversations date back several months. The Democratic race for president won't officially begin until after the 2018 midterms, but many potential candidates are already getting into position for the run and making trips to Iowa. Oprah has not commented.

P!nk vs POTUS

Yesterday the NFL that P!nk is performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and the web is already buzzing about how it might become the political moment of the show. It's no secret that the National Anthem has been a topic of debate lately with professional athletes, using it as a silent protest against racial injustice and police brutality. Now the protesting is a reason that some people have tuned out the NFL. P!nk has been outspoken about the issue, arguing that the president should not complain about the protests. And now she is the one that will be singing the anthem at the NFL's biggest game. Oh my.

The Return of Obi-Wan's Beard

When Ewan McGregor showed up to the Golden Globes over the weekend, he was sporting his full-on Obi-Wan beard. This caused the heads of Star Wars fans, including yours truly, to explode. Since Disney purchased Lucasfilm and announced that there would be stand-alone films along side the main trilogies, fans have been clamoring for Ewan McGregor to reprise his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in his own film. He was easily the best part of the Prequel Trilogy, and his voice could even be heard in Rey's Force Vision in "The Force Awakens." After winning Best Actor for "Fargo" Sunday night, reporters couldn’t help but ask about the beard and the possibility of an Obi-Wan movie. “There’s a lot of talk, and I’d be happy to play him again, but I don’t know anything more than you do,” McGregor said.
