Get ready for the 75th Annual Golden Globes this weekend, Hoda replaces Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today", and Carrie Underwood needs stitches. These are your Hollywood Headlines!

The 2018 awards season is officially on, and the first show of the year will be, as usual, the great big boozy bash that is the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual awards extravaganza goes down this weekend, and NBC’s own Seth Meyers will be taking over hosting duties from Jimmy Fallon, who emceed the show last year. In the movie categories, The Shape of Water collected the most nominations, with seven. The Post and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri tied for second, nabbing six each, while Lady Bird came in third with four. On the small-screen side of things, HBO’s Emmy juggernaut Big Little Lies leads the pack with six nominations, followed by FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan, with four, and The Handmaid’s Tale, Fargo, and This Is Us all picking up three nods apiece. The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards will be held this Sunday, Jan. 7, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and will air live on NBC at 6 pm.

Hoda Kotb, who has filled in on NBC's "Today" show since Matt Lauer was fired in November, is now officially replacing him. The promotion means that Kotb and Savannah Guthrie will co-host the famed morning show. "This has to be the most popular decision NBC News has ever made," Guthrie said while celebrating the news on Tuesday's "Today." The pairing of two women is a departure from the typical man-and-woman morning show format. But it's a logical move for NBC, especially in the wake of Lauer's abrupt exit amid complaints about inappropriate sexual behavior at work.

Country superstar Carrie Underwood announced last November that she had broken her wrist after taking a fall on the front steps of her home, and on Sunday she revealed that she sustained additional injuries from the incident. Underwood revealed in a post to her fan club members that in addition to having surgery on her wrist, she required stitches on her face. Detailing the injuries, Underwood continues, "In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told her husband Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in." As she continues to recover, Underwood says she's is optimistic about what the new year holds for her.
